Cropping time/Rule Of Thirds

I thought that this photo was going to be bad, I didn't really like how there was heaps of room on the left of the photo. But by cropping it and making it seem more nicer and better it actually turned out a good photo. In this photo we also have the Rule Of thirds presented within the photo. The flower and the photograph is a great example of the rule of thirds. I found that the flower and photograph is the main center of interest. If we were to rule the page up we would see that the O's of the grid would land on both the flower and also the photograph. This photo would be a great image to use the Rule of Thirds on.

  2. Just thinking about next steps for you and what you could play with... Maybe you could look at David Hockney... Janet Lilo's work at the Physics room would be a reasonable idea too, even though it is highly photoshopped there is this cool concept behind it that is worth understanding and thinking about - she took a walk from the gallery to Avondale in chch because she is from Avondale in Auckland and she took photos of things, places and people she met along the way and asked the people about their stories. she incorporated stuff about these stories as well. the final major work was presented as 1100 photos on a long wall that made up the whole art work like a mosaic. 'Ailine was at the exhibition with me and she should be able to tell you a bit about the overall work, also try googling Janet and physics room. it might be an idea for you to try with your objects, the piecing together and the incorporating of the story more somehow...
